Has anyone priced getting a frame powder coated.  Do extras like risers, swingarm, and wheels add significantly to the cost.  What about color choices?  Thanks.  BDC

Local shop wants like 100 for the frame, 50 for the swing arm assembly, 20 for a brake caliper, 45 per wheel, and the misc parts are like 5 bucks or even free with a large part if they don't have to mask them.

Be careful with powder coating, we had a powder coat plant at work  and it had great adhesion but was microporous which was fine for aluminium but not steel. We used it as an undercoat and topcoated with an enamel.

Interesting, I never heard of that. Was it specific to the powder coating type the plant was doing? I didn't see any problems on some of the steel powder coated parts I have from other projects.

I'm sorry but I don't have that information anymore, we've moved sites and changed our product range so all our pneumatic valves are anodised or plain brass now.

I have a couple of frames power coated. I think it's wonderful, very scratch resistant. Most shops are looking for work because of the economy right now. Have your parts clean and degreased before you take them to the shop.

I find its about 300 to do a old bmw r60 frame with all of the bells and whistles, and there are ALOT more pieces to those old frames than the Vision's frame
