Soon expect to paint plastics, tank, and fairing on the bike I'm rebuilding.  I really like Dave's Yellowjacket and thought I would go with a Yellow for the plastics and tank. I have the choice of using an 82 or 83 exhaust and mufflers (83's are black).  Would a yellow full fairing be too much yellow ( I'm painting the windshield black) or should I paint it all black?  I really would like to hear your opinions on how to make it look the best I can, I don't want it to look exactly like Dave's bike though I really like his and Tigers' paint schemes. Thanks for your ideas and opinions.   BDC

Barrett-Jackson Colector Clor Series has a yellow called Yellow Jacket.  Then how about spraying a Pearl Mid-coat or a Gold Mid-coat.  That would definately POP!  Don't forget to lay about 4-5 coats of clear-coat on the top.  Then wet sand until its smooth as glass then polish it until you think you can touch yourself in the reflection.

Cost I think that this scheme will lighten you for about $400-$500 in paint and sundries cost.  OH yeah, then there is the mandatory 2 beers to consume between coats. Which will double the price because you painted while drinking and will have to do it all over again.  8)

:) All Yellow with the full fairing will look fine... 8) The black accents coming from the seat, tires, wheel rims, an '83 exhaust system, etc and black YAMAHA decals along the side of the fairing (upper) will give your Vision some balance (I M O!!)

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming HOOOOYA lets go again baby !!!!!!

'82 Vision, Pearl Orange finish, lots of up-grades!!!
