Well with my fuse problems I lost my turn signals for some reason.

I was having fust problems (one of the clips broke) and my turn signal fuse (while riding) kept making and breaking contact so my guages and signals were acting funny.

I replaced the fuse box and now when I hit the turn signal switch I hear a click but no tick tock. I took it apart and I can make it blink manually.

I tried a new eletronic relay but it worked for all of 10 seconds.

I really dont want to spent 71 bucks through yamaha for a new one.

What have you guys done?

I was thining about getting a new pod from dennis kirk and rewiring everything my self so that the signals and headlight and horn work.

Hi Crackercorean,

Weird. I got an electronic blinker thingy, it didn't work well. I got another one from another store, works well.

I really don't think it's worth buying a Yamaha one.

If you're unsure about the status of the fuse box and its contacts, you could change it, or just use car fuses of the right amperage; it would look a bit more messy, but it's cheap and under the seat  ;)

Well I can try an eletronic blinker from another auto parts store.

Do you know what lead goes to what on the bike? I have it marked but want to make sure that its correct.

Do you have a haynes manual?  If so go to page 145, and check the flasher canceling unit.
A bad marrage is like dirty carbs... It just makes everything else suck.

Well, when it comes to electrical wires, I'm lost to start with. Then I can either find my way around, or get more lost.

With the two-prong flasher unit I got, there were two possible ways to put it on the three slot fitting in the bike; tried one way, didn't work; tried the other way, voila. That's pretty much the complete experience I have...  :D

My turn signals acted up and finally died  a week or so ago, I tried  a couple from the auto parts store  and  had no luck at all . Finally I went over to my storage and dug out  an origional one salvaged from one of my junkers  and that did the trick . At that point I  opened the  case up and found it contaminated with oil , I cleaned it up and its now a spare, Point # 1 is  open it up and  wash it out with some electrical cleaner  and make 1 or 2 passes through the points with some 600 wet or dry sand paper  , it may come back to life.
# as I've always said  everyone needs a spare parts bike!
