Recent Published Road Test?

I wondered if any bike mags (I'm thinking esp Classic Mags) had published any articles on the Vision in recent years. I've read these mags for years and cannot recall seeing one. I read 2 recent reviews on the XS500 and TX750. Two of Yamaha's less noteable ( more notorious) bikes. I think they were both in " Classic Motorcycle Mechanics" (www.classicmechanics.com).  The reviews were rather kind to the bikes pointing out the good features as opposed to stating their deficiencies. It would be really great to see an XZ featured and I'm sure a well sorted article would attract people to restore them. There must be plenty in the UK and USA slowly rusty away.
This is a UK publication so it would need a good standard UK Vision
to be put through the hands of a CMM tester. I believe they are very kind to more "mature" bikes. Has anyone ever approached a publication to do this, or would be willing to?

Have a great New Year everyone.

I can't say much for current publications (since I rarely make it to Borders or some other book store) although you would think one of these classic bike mags would do a Vision article eventually. As I'm sure some of the rest of you can agree with, there isn't much to be found on the web either. I remember finding a UK site a week or two ago that had two "owner reports". They were both pretty negative even though the one guy did put quite a few miles on the V. BUT I think both riders were just looking for ultra cheap used bikes to just run the wheels off (they both kept talking about what a small amount of money they had invested) AND as many of us can relate to, when you buy one of these V's that's sat for perhaps years, or even as an original owner like myself whose bike sat for about eight years, you aren't going to have them up and running in two weeks.

My opinon is that the chances are pretty slim we will see a Vision article in one of these mags, our V's are just not quite that old classic people rode a bit in their youth and it did not quite turn out to be the great bike Yamaha advertised in 1982. Back heck that's OK, along as we've got the ROV network, do agree with you however Glyn, sure would be nice to see a good article on the V!
