Anyone here have any experience with the home powder coater outfit from Harbor Frieght?  I recently bought one and will be setting up soon. It'd be nice to get some tips from anyone who has done their own.

Uhmm, no. The guy at Harbor Freight said as I checked out, "Under no circumstances bake your parts in the kitchen oven.  If you do, we're not responsible for what happens to you when you're caught, and you will be caught."

For now, I'm planning on using a 2nd hand toaster oven in the garage. Once I get the hang of it, I'll get a cheap used electric stove or wall oven.  No way to do the frame right now. Maybe I can take it to Pizza Hut?  ;D

Just get a second hand gas bar- b -q , I bake paint all the time in one . Just keep the temp down. I used a pyrometer used in boilers.

Hmmm. That's not a bad idea. My grill has a thermometer built-in to the cover lid.  I'm going to give that a try.  Hopefully, the fumes (if any) won't kill any birds.

Only issue I have with those little ovens is that sometimes they don't have the heat output to bake what you need, but they will do a  stator just fine

It you know someone who makes pottery, some of those ovens are pretty big. I just don't know if they will  be too hot for the job at hand.

I haven't had any problem with visible fumes and there have been no dead birds around it. I started with our Grill and put a sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil on the grill. The I found one at the swap meet for 5 .00 so I use it now.It will get hot enough to turn the paint to powder, I run it all the way down.

Have yet to even open the box on the thing. First I must get the garden shed I've been promising since 1988 built.
