Good folks, fast shipping.. no, I dont work for them!!! But I have ordered from them and have been happy. but if you have the OEM part # you can shop around...

Cool, thanks guys. It snapped right at the throttle. The throttle was completely unresponsive so I unscrewed that little connector just below, put some tension on the bare cable, and it popped right out.

been there,, JUST did that. I was about 50 miles away and had to ride back with my hand on the carbs!! It was on my virago, so I tried the vision one and besides being a bit longer it worked fine.. Now I have to buy 3! so I'll have one for each, and a backup for each..
HEY JH, where did you have em made?? Might be cheaper for me to have 3 made at once..

I can't remember the name I will have to look it up. It's in Vancouver BC if that helps. I think they just soldered my balls  ;D on the end of a new cable. I probably could have done it myself.
Sorry for taking so long to respond.

Sort of the opposite of what happened to Beaux!   ;)

If you have an accident on a motorcycle, it's always your fault. Tough call, but it has to be that way. You're in the right, and dead -on a bike. The principle is not to have any accident. If you're involved in an an accident, it's because you did not anticipate. Then, by default, you failed.

Monk, I can build cables from scratch , except for the throttle cable elbows , I need those from the old cable. repairing a  cable with an end off is no problem. I have several Vision throttle cables, I have repaired , in reserve.
To keep your cables functioning well, I suggest buying a cable luber and applying Triflow aerosol lube , once a month. Yamaha clutch cables are teflon lined (maybe  polyprofilene)  and triflow improves both life expectancy and smoothness of operation.

My elbow is broken ..  WAAAAAH. I'll have to get some.. I had to put off coming down there,,$$$ sucks right now.. soon though...

You can make an elbow easy enough... some proper sized steel brake tube from an Auto supply, bend as needed, braze in the necessary hardware on the ends to hold stuff in place (washer, nut, etc. whatever is needed to connect the cables available at your local parts shop) and viola.  Try not to make too aggressive bends though, it will crimp the tube and restrict your cable.

funkamongus

My Virago has the same,,but a few inches shorter, cable.. same elbow too... Im gonna see if they're available.. and I DO have the old elbow, now that Im thinking of it,, because the one that broke was my virago cable and the elbow was good..and I put the broken one from my vision on it..  hmmmm. no money now anyway.. My unemployment is done as of last tuesday and I have to make another agreement sunday via internet.. wish me luck....
