The Rambo Granny of Melbourne , Australia

Gun-toting granny Ava Estelle, 81, was so ticked-off when two thugs raped her 18-year-old granddaughter that she tracked the unsuspecting ex-cons down... and shot off their testicles.
The old lady spent a week hunting those men down -and, when she found them, she took revenge on them in her own special way, said Melbourne police investigator Evan Delp.
Then she took a taxi to the nearest police station, laid the gun on the sergeant's desk and told him as calm as could be: 'Those bastards will never rape anybody again, by God.'
Cops say convicted rapist and robber Davis Furth, 33, lost both his penis and his testicles when outraged Ava opened fire with a 9-mm pistol in the hotel room where he and former prison cell mate Stanley Thomas, 29, were holed up..
The wrinkled avenger also blew Thomas' testicles to kingdom come, but doctors managed to save his mangled penis, police said. 'The one guy, Thomas, didn't lose his manhood, 'but the doctor I talked to said he won't be using it the way he used to,' Detective Delp told reporters. 'Both men are still in pretty bad shape, 'but I think they're just happy to be alive after what they've been through.'
The Rambo Granny swung into action August 21 after her granddaughter Debbie was carjacked and raped in broad daylight by two knife-wielding creeps in a section of town bordering on skid row.. 'When I saw the look on my Debbie's face that night in the hospital, 'I decided I was going to go out and get those bastards myself ''cause I figured the Law would go easy on them,' recalled the retired library worker.. 'And I wasn't scared of them, either - because I've got me a gun and I've been shootin' all my life. 'And I wasn't dumb enough to turn it in when the law changed about owning one.'
So, using a police artist's sketch of the suspects and Debbie's description of the sickos, tough-as-nails Ava spent seven days prowling the wino-infested neighborhood where the crime took place till she spotted the ill-fated rapists entering their flophouse hotel. 'I knew it was them the minute I saw 'em, but I shot a picture of 'em anyway' and took it back to Debbie and she said sure as hell, it was them,' the oldster recalled...

'So I went back to that hotel and found their room and knocked on the door, 'and the minute the big one opened the door, I shot 'em right square between the legs,'right where it would really hurt 'em most, you know. 'Then I went in and shot the other one 'as he backed up pleading to me to spare him.'  Then I went down to the police station and turned myself in..'

Now, baffled lawmen are trying to figure out exactly how to deal with the vigilante granny. 'What she did was wrong, and she broke the law, but it is difficult to throw an 81-year-old woman in prison,' Det. Delp said, 'especially when 3 million people in the city want to nominate her for Mayor.'
DEPORT HER TO AMERICA - WE NEED HER!

            Australian Gun Law Update

Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts...
From: Ed Chenel , A police officer in Australia

Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing  Australia   taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent,
Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!)

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home.

Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding Australian society of guns..' You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information.

The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note Americans, before it's too late!

Will you be one of the sheeple to turn yours in?  WHY?  You will need it.

FORWARD TO EVERYONE ON YOUR EMAIL LIST. [I DID]

Wow, that lady has some serious guts. I give her major props for having the courage and will to go through with that. Most people try going through the lawful channel only to see the guilty party walk free and commit again. I think it is a fitting punishment for the crime though.
Younger, but just as smart. Really.

Uh no.  That's not the only conclusion to this experiment.  I see a very badly done law.

It's a fake story.  No, I don't think we should ban guns.  My honest opinion is that the 2nd amendment should be repealed so that laws that actually make sense can be put into place.  The second amendment is a poorly written one-liner, and has so many possible interpretations that it's pretty much dangerous.  I used to be a "sharp-shooter" in the Boy Scouts, not national level or anything, but good. I have a lot of respect for firearms.  It would be nice to not live in a country where our police are not out-armed by criminals and citizens.

The NRA, unfortunately, has not been the voice of reason.

And as far as Australian Crime Stats:

funkamongus

Id have to agree with the openness of #2 and all the lawyers who are now trying to interpret what they meant.. I dont trust the government, I want the right to own a gun if I have to fight my own for my country back. Seems to me like thats what its coming to. As I said, I dont have a gun, but if a person were to come into my house.. I have a few tricks up the old sleeve, including some pretty intense training. I just dont think that would be enough to take our country back. I think we'll need lots of guns.

Guns are a machines designed to KILL. pure and simple, yet if you leave a loaded one in your sock drawer it will not hurt anyone!  The money spent on gun control would be better spent educating people on gun safety like a gun safety program in schools (we have Sex ed. why not gun safety ed.?)  If the idiot liberals would learn that guns are not bad, people are, and the ass-hat republicans would learn what the second amendment really meant, and everyone would Cowboy up to the idea of being RESPONSIBLE PARENTS and trying to instill important values of gun RESPECT the world would be a much better place.

I wish people would just take some damned responsibility for the way society is instead of trying to govern the way people think with money wasting laws!

You see, I don't understand this statement.  The military has a whole lot more firepower than any civilian militia can muster up.  We are no longer at the point where the weapons used by normal citizens can match the power of the military weapons.  There is no way that we would be able to "fight my own for my country back".  While I can probably build something small, there is no way I can produce a tomahawk or similar to take down a jet.  I would not want to try to go against the A-10 firepower...

At least not as far as I can tell.

funkamongus

Looks to me like the taliban has done ok with smaller firepower.. plus, I dont think all of our military is going to be on their page. And, are they going to kill us all? All of us with common sense still left in us, not indoctrinated out by institutions like berzerkely. There are a LOT of us. Including in the military...

But does anyone expect to get up and find a terrorist in their garbage can? don't get me wrong, i think everyone should be able to have a gun, but california is a LOOONG way for a terrorist to travel packing an AK-47, with little or no gain, besides if some one killed ya funk you would become the most dangerous thing on earth.

A Martyr

they don't care about us?
Damn right they don't. they only care for orders, an so long as a general can attain glory or a politician can attain power by saving our poor hippy asses I feel pretty safe.

A few things you should know about me.

I was accepted into U.C. Berkeley as a major in Physics, went to do my first two years at U.C. Santa Cruz, and stayed, graduating with a BA in Mathematics and a minor in physics.

I believe my taxes should be raised to provide fundamental necessities like health care for every U.S. citizen.  Hell, raise them to the same as the Clinton Era (at 39.6 percent top) or better yet the Regan era (at 50 percent top).

I am not what you would call conservative.

Didn't take it that way, don't worry :-)

kewl. I wish I had some real time to sit with you, you sound like a smart guy, Id like to know why your liberal. I know you must have reasons.. Im not liberal because Im broke. Ive been passed over for jobs because I didnt speak spanish, and for education, I couldnt get money, because Im here legally and not a convicted felon, I am however poor, just not poor  enough. As far as bailouts,, I dont know how a government can fix greed with money,, especially someone elses money. Healthcare,, did you get better coverage for less when they mandated you have car insurance?? How come everyone on the road doesnt have it?? The bills went up and up, and getting them to actually pay for anything got harder and harder. In my humble 43 years, Ive never seen the government get involved in anything that actually got better. EVER. Have I missed something?
