Okay, so I went to a Yamaha dealer just for grins, and this guy said they could order that little plastic part that fits under the seat on the right side. $12.00+small change--not bad. One week. Now, if only they really have it. My carb boots took six months. Yikes.

Yeah right, I went through that with Honda last year. I ordered a battery hold down strap for a '72 CL Honda because they said they could still get the part in. It was only $3.50 which is probably the price when they stopped making it decades ago. I popped into the shop numerous times, and after I sold the bike  6 months later I let them off the hook, and said I didn't need it anymore. Honda is actually pretty good for getting old bike parts but sometimes I feel they are just full of shit.
