How does this site work?

After many months of intentions, today I finally gave a modest donation to ridersofvision. It's something I've always wanted to do but the $ always seems to run out before the days to next paycheck. With that, I now dare ask something that I've been wondering for a long time. One of the first things that I noticed with ridersofvision is that when I visit I'm not pummeled with adds. In fact this website is ad free. How does this work? I've been assuming that if no one donates to this forum that Ron is stuck with the monthly hosting fee on his own. Is that true?

I'm also a member of a few forums for a fairly rare car that I own. One of the sites, which BTW sells add space, kicked me off his forum because I didn't post enough. I'm sure glad this site isn't like that.
