Hi i just got an extra 82 for a parts bike. i haven't done anything to it yet. And i was curious what the compression was and the rear is 65psi and the front is almost nothing maybe 5. i haven't cleaned the carbs or done anything yet to make it fire.

Where do i go from here? do i clean everthing up and put new oil in it and fresh gasand try to get it to fire and then check the compression again? ???

compression should be checked warm, you could have a stuck valve or piston rings from sitting.  my vote, give it some fresh oil, some fresh gas, a good battery boost & see if it kicks.  squitrt come carb spray down the carbs for good measure.  don't trust compression readings till you've at least tried to fire it.  if it makes a bad noise, STOP & figure it out.  it might be cheap or inexpensive to fix. rarely do both cyls go low on compresion at the same time...

OK i will do this, makes sense about a stuck valve or something  :)

I looked at the old registration papers in the trunk and looks like the last time this thing was on the road was 96
