Why is it that only the rear carburetor has a hole drilled on the side of the power nozzle?

What is the difference in how they feed their respective venturi?

Thanks

Are you talking about a hole in the actual nozzle or a hole in the carb body beside the nozzle. I'm not observing any differences at all between the two.     BDC

Hopefully, the hole drilled on the side shows up on this picture

There is no such hole on the front carburetor

Looked at several sets of carbs and they apparently made a change when replacing the front carb top during the airbox modification. I only have one set of carbs without the mod and both tubes have holes in them. If there are any conclusions to be drawn from this info, I'll let you draw them.     BDC

remember that any orifice facuing up like that...is to allow air in. I did not know it was called a power nozzle?  I do know that the rear carb  has the accelerator pump assy. If you have and early '82 that sounds like another difference during production. FYI- I know of 3 versions of just the accel pump mechanism.
looks aren't important, if she lets you play by your rules

power nozzle?

I lifted the name off the carburetor circuit diagram in the manual. Otherwise I would have just called it a brass pipe  ;)
