I am not a moderator, never have been. there are no mods here, & I still believe we don't really need one. Just Ron who is the sole owner & admin.

Since this is somewhat related I guess I'll throw in a plug for Ron who pays for the hosting site and keeps it running when it's targeted. It's always worthwhile to kick Ron a few dollars with the donate button once and while for his expense and hassle.

Cheers

Slamming HD is OK with me !! I do it all the time ! I'm ashamed that an American company can't (won't ) produce something more modern. I kind of liked the Street Rod , but of course they stopped making that version.

I used to feel that way until I got to know some HD riders and the bikes. As a motorcycle enthusiast I'm now  embarrassed I was so quick to bash them both.  :-[

Go visit a showroom and you may be surprised at the features and quality of these bikes. HD listens to their customers and in return are rewarded with fierce brand loyalty. The bikes demand a premium price as do the many endorsed accessories and the owners pay it. The bikes may not be everyone's cup of tea style-wise but the big four continue to emulate it in an attempt to share that demographic.

I know this is way off topic but hey, I didn't bring up HD... ;D  I was made aware of this story http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/news/bmws-liquidcooled-boxer-spotted-wild/ which implies  ever stronger EPA regs and a desire for increased HP have caused BMW to experiment with LC engines for their GS line. I wonder if the die hard BMW AT crowd will abandon their favorite bike? Eventually HD will face the same pressures and it will be interesting to see if they can reinvent themselves.  ???

I have read of spy reports and seen associated pictures of liquid cooled boxer engines, very far along in development.  Will probably see the market within the next 24 months.

I take a much harder stance with HD. When they bought the company back , they were very short of capital. They abandoned the V4 they had developed and went with the EVO. The only standard they build is a 58 year old design. Ya , they have improved  it, but its still an antique with a two valve push rod engine. . The real problem is the people who buy the things. They  have bought into the "Harley Mistique" BS  and so the company had had no choice but to build the same  crap!  Over and over again.
So many HD riders with 1200 Sportsters are so confused and put out , when my 550 eats them alive. I have gone to many Harley ride days and tried different models out , but they have nothing  I would pay that much for. The Vrod is too much cruiser for me.

Iain, she has marvelous suspension!  Probably a smooooth ride !

I think you should explain to your wife that this is in fact art. A bit like Michelangelo's David  statue, or famous paintings by Picasso and Renoir which made nudity a true art form. You should also reassure her that by looking at my avatar you are supporting the art and culture of New Zealand

Admin, How about a list of all admin (Staff) personnel and owners with a little background info on all of them. Who's not playing nice? Is the previous post directed to Iain's sexually oriented avatar or just everyone in general?

I don't see that Iain's Avatar breaches these rules.  I'm fairly certain those are not false, but indeed the real thing as God intended to be seen and appreciated in all their bouncing glory.
Iain - be warned - silicon breasts are against the rules and WILL NOT BE TOLERATED by the group

I haven't been upset by anyone Iain, we (ROV) are obviously in a state of change and I don't know anything about the folks who make and/or enforce the rules, didn't know we had any guidelines until today. I would like to have a better understanding of what's going on and where we are headed. Is your avatar okay but not Roro's? Has one of our TN members quit posting of his own accord or otherwise? What are our short term as well as long term goals. I hate being in the dark.    BDC
