My 82 has a gold colored rear wheel, from what i understand it's from an 83.
I have a donor bike with a rear wheel that matches my front.
My good bike got a nail in the rear tire, so i figure now is a good time to do the swap.
Anything i need to watch for when switching them over?  The wheel looks like it's in good shape.  I'm going to clean it up some time this weekend.

How old is the tire on the donor?  The DOT number can be deciphered if you know how to read them, the mfg date is part of the number.
Retired, on the downhill slide. . . . . . . . still feels like going uphill!

If it is 3 digits, it is too old.  The DOT code is 4 digits on newer tires, it was WWY, as they originally didn't expect them to hang around that long.  Now has 2 digit year (WWYY).  It is the week of the year that the tire was manufactured, so 0109 would be 1st week of Jan, 2009.

IIRC, can anyone verify?

I learnt something new. Apparently it was 3 digit up til 2000. Good to know.  :)
