I shoot a rifle with old ammunition with corrosive primers (aka rust!!). Recently at a gun show I was introduced to Ballistol which dissolves the salts in those corrosive powders.

Ballistol is advertised as being multi-purpose for cleaning, lubricating, and protecting everything from rubber, leather, metal, plastics, etc....

I was curious if anyone has had any experience with this product in anything other than firearms (i.e. old motorcycle parts)?

fret not

Clean 'em immediately after use.  As the old saying goes, "Rust never sleeps".
