I flew home from Las Vegas yesterday and could see the smoke from my plane.

Spoke to Rob last week. Those fires are very close to his house. Prob less than 10 miles. He at least has Horsetooth reservoir between him and the fires so that is a good fire break. The smoke is pretty thick up there and even though I am 80 miles south there is a pretty good haze all around.

It's been crazy. Lost 374 homes I believe. And to think it's only been 6 days.....
Here's a pretty good pic

fret not

It's sort of a "perfect storm" situation with very low precipitation over the winter, dry and dead trees, hot temps, wind, steep terrain, etc.   The fire is still very little contained, though conditions are said to be improving.
Retired, on the downhill slide. . . . . . . . still feels like going uphill!

Spoke to Rob yesterday and he assured me that all was well . The fires near him, :)are under control and he won't have to evacuate his bikes !
