Surfing through sites, window shopping as I call it, for parts for "Ilene" and stumbled across this site. It has a reverse part number look up feature. Used it to find MOSFET r/r to search through ebay for. Figured I'd share it

That is a good site but not perfect. If you get no hits try elsewhere before throwing in the towel. This part number for instance: 28V-25355-00-00 returns no matches on Ron Ayers site. On Boats.net however, it finds it correctly as the cam lever for the '83 rear brake. http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/motorcycle/Y-28V-25355-00-00.html

What's interesting is the same part is fairly common in Yamaha's inventory but only the 83 XZ is listed. I used one from a Maxim and it's the right bend and length but I wonder what makes the XZ's unique. Is it black rather than chrome on the '83? A color change would be sufficient to change a part number. Here's the XZ's filter and you can see they listed all the applications that use it.http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/Y-4X7-13440-90-00.html

Cool I've added that one as well. I think when I was going to order something from boats.net it cost more in shipping than the parts like ALOT more.
