Making gaskets

I need to replace the little gasket on the secondary venturi, part# 11H-14198-00-00.
I refuse to pay almost $8 for this little thing but I have never seen that type of gasket material at any of the parts stores near me.
I've only seen the papery/fibrous type material, not a rubbery type material.
Was the original made out of this type of material and just looks different over so much time or do I need to order something online?

I make them from regular  gasket material  (the same as I use for float bowl gaskets)  and coat them with Gask-a-cinch , the same as I do with all gaskets.
