I agree, it is not staged. He is a reporter of french MotoJournal TV. They make funny tests of bikes, but do not destroy them on purpose. He is good rider, but sometimes makes mistakes ::)

That is so ugly. I've tagged a bag on a bumper when I was splitting lanes and it doesn't take much to throw you off balance. It's probably worse at low speed than at high speed.
