I was mucking around with fitting a different tank to my 400 and removed my coils to find that number 1 was cracked severely whole side of casing ( you can see windings through crack). This is great news as I now know why number 1 cylinder was not firing. Had spark on plug but guessing that under compression coil would have leaked to frame. That sound about right? Anyway have a spare coil just waiting for starter fix before I can fire up. Anticipation is building up.
You like, oui?

Sounds reasonable  :) Good catch, you'd be going nuts trying to figure out what was going on when you tried to fired it up.   :o  ???  :D
