Currently this entry lacks photographs of the XZ550 82 and 83 models and would perhaps do with a really nice modified bobber or cafe racer photograph as well.

The entry is also challenging because of its lack of reference material and unsubstantiated opinions

Any volunteers to update it? Perhaps we could set up a Google doc with group access so we can get a more acceptable text based on the original posting.

For a mod I think the pics of Lee Mallets you posted a while back are the bomb.
I would use the factory advertising pics for the 82/83.

Admittedly I'm completely ignorant of the Wiki process. How are changes made and what keeps competing camps from continually altering the narrative to align with their beliefs?

I wouldn't mind if the entry were cleaned up a bit in the aspects you mentioned but there doesn't seem to be any volunteers. Is this something you (pinholenz) are comfortable tackling?

Told me I couldn't upload the pics until I was verified.  And needed to do 10 edits to be verified.
What to edit?  What to edit?

Photographs on Wiki can only be used with the copyright owners permission or under a Creative Commons license. Images sourced off the web are not permitted.

Which brings us back to either using forum members bikes from photographs they have made or getting permission from Yamaha to use their advertising photos.

I can post them if they can be made available.

Meantime I will contact Yamaha....haha. You never know!
