Every year there is a rally in DC for pow/mia military veterans and every year it seems to get bigger.  this year it's expected to reach half a million people or more.  It's always a fun time, and if you want you can join the parade that leaves from the pentagon and ride through DC on blocked off roads (very fun time.)  If you're in the area id suggest checking it out.  I'll be heading up from northern VA from a local VFW post with a police escort all the way up.  All in all, its a good time for a good cause.

Parade is Saturday
Ceremony at the Vietnam Memorial is Sunday
From friday-sunday

Hopefully Ill see some of you there.  The Vision and I will take lots of pictures :)

So all in all a fun day,

Was originaly going to ride the V-star to the rally (vision doesnt like low speed rides for long periods of time, not to mention my clutch hand doesnt either).  but turns out the v-stars voltage regulator is bad so i ended up taking the vision (which isnt quite up to a good running conidition id like-mainly jetting)...  but anyway. a few pictures of the day (with the vision included in it, and the girlfriend.)

First off we rode over to the local Harley dealership with the VFW group i rode with (BAD choice.  planning was horrible..but the few harley riders in the VFW group somehow found out we were "invited" to "lead" the pack.  anyway, enough complaining..

another at the harley dealership

every year ive gone, we've been put into the pentagons south parking, this year i followed the people infront of me from the harley dealership, and they threw us into north parking.  there was maybe 10,000 bikes there at one time-two port-o-johns.  wish i could have made it over to the south parking lot to take a picture of all the bikes lined up.  its quite a site. but the washington monuments there in the background beyond the trees for some scenery :)

turns out the north parking lot was dead last to go into the parade so i decided to show the girlfriend that sleeping on the bike was not only possible, but comfortable.  I dont have the center stand on anymore so i was a bit skeptical, so i kept my left foor on the ground so i wouldnt fall off.

Apparantly the cop found the vision a little too "sporty" and camped out by us.  haha. thats the entrance to I-95 right behind him.

Started to realize we were getting badly sunburned, so the shirts went back on.

View of the vision with the pentagon in the background.

the girlfriend inspecting my quality ride.

Again of the pentagon and vision, but this time with the washington monument on the right.

Front view of the vision (need to put a real headlight in the fairing and remount it. over the bridge in the background is the potomac river, and on the other side of that is DC.

"Wow that engine is shiney! i can see my face in it!  ;D

just thought id share my weekend
