Slow starter when hot???

When I jump it with the car battery it is on the battery terminals not to the starter. I think the battery is eliminated as it had exactly the same problem with a new battery at the battery shop.

Hmmm, might the battery be getting too hot?   ???  It doesn't take a lot of charge to run the engine, and once started, the stator provides power...  Mebbe explains why I could still "bump" my XZ when this happened...
