Brake Cleaner VS Carb Cleaner

Is there much of a difference between carb cleaner and brake cleaner? They seem to have the same effect whether you use them on brakes or carbs.

Big difference....  brake cleaner leaves no residue.  Carb cleaner will damage brake rubber.  Brake cleaner makes toxic gas if burned.
