Better to have newbies than to not have newbies.  Better to learn slowly than to not learn at all.  Newbies are welcome and supported here.

I bought a brand new starter clutch last year for about $120+ shipping.
If I remember correctly I got it from Bike Bandit website.
After reassembly the bike sounded brand new. I hadn't heard that sound since I bouht a new Vision in 1984 (left over 82).

Ask in the swap shop and see if anyone has a spare for sale.
I may have , but I'll need to take inventory and see how many good ones I have. not all starter clutches are good , as you found out.

Hey, good news!

I actually fixed the original starter clutch and replaced the screws. Cleaned the engine as much as i could, then flushed with special oil. Then - new filter and semisynthetic oil. Engine runs now very smoothily and starts fine 8)
first run already done!  :D

You managed to fix that mangled and cracked starter clutch. How did you do it?
