San Diego county has some great roads for bikes. Descanso, Boulevard, Cuyamaca, Julian, Ramona, Palomar, Borrego Springs are all connected by interesting and curvy roads. I'm originally from that area but now live in central northern California in the western foothills of the Sierra mountains, which is also a great place for rides.
