The Prophet of Doom

I can think of 19995 ways to spend $199.95 more productively.  I guess if you want you cockpit to look like Knight Rider then it would be worth it.

All that would be required is an idiot light like the oil pressure light. I had an experience a year ago that made me wish I had a TPMS. Dealer installed tires at an "Internet Matching price" he wasn't happy with. Apparently they didn't clean the wheels well and I lost air pressure in both wheels. I didn't get hurt but I will never go back to them and speak poorly about their sorry operation.     BDC

Yikes  >:(   That's why I change my own tires.

There are also cheaper mechanical pressure indicators like this one http://theawesomer.com/quik-chek-tire-pressure-indicator/185087/   This specific one is new, but the idea has been around for a while. I had a set of them on my lawn tractor and thought they worked fine. They obviously weigh a little more than a standard valve cap though, so I wouldn't put them on anything high speed without rebalancing the whole tire/wheel.

A tech from a local tire shop did warn me that he often sees linear pressure gauges that are inaccurate. I've used a dial gauge since then and had better placebo results :)
