Mysterious plastic piece

I can't remember where to put the plastic piece shown in attachment. Does anybody regognice it and can help me? I did try to fit it but with no luck.

It bolts to the front cylinder, and a frame tab on the left.  Check out the bolting arrangement on the fiche.
Most people consider it to be a heat shield for the carbs.  I think it's there to prevent you from changing your front spark plug.
It also has a notch for the choke cable.

Change the spark plug? Why? I think you're supposed to ride it until the starter fills with oil then park it.
